
Stationery Department is a service department entrusted with the task of supplying stationery materials to other Government offices needed for their day today functioning. The department functions under the Controller of Stationery with the Headquarters near PMG junction.
The responsibilities of the Controller of Stationery are devolved under two separate Deputy Controllers : one dealing with administration and the other handling the stores.
The department has four regional offices at viz, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Shornur and Kozhikode. District offices also function at Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thodupuzha, Malappuram, Thrissur, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. Regional offices are functioning under Assistant Stationery Controllers and the district offices under District Stationery Officers.
To facilitate the supply of stationery materials to the Government Secretariat, Secretariat Stationery Office of the department is functioning at Secretariat annexe from November 2009. Secretariat Stationery Officer is the head of this office. Stationery Inspectors have been posted at the district level to inspect the accounts regarding the use of stationery. The quota of stationery needed for the consuming departments are decided and additionally allocated on the basis of the reports of Stationery Inspectors.
